When the brightness of the phone using the AMOLED screen is lowered beyond a certain point, the screen may start to flicker or pulsate. This issue arises due to the AMOLED technology employed by manufacturers like Samsung in their displays and the unique operation of these screens.

Unlike traditional LCD screens, where a light is projected through the pixels to adjust their brightness, AMOLED displays have each pixel emitting its own light. Therefore, to decrease the screen's brightness, the electrical current flowing through these pixels needs to be reduced. However, it is this reduced current that can cause the screen to appear as if it is pulsating or flickering.

This application solves AMOLED-related problems by replacing the system functions for automatic brightness adjustment. Instead of reducing the current flowing through the pixels, it dims the pixels displayed on the screen to maintain a high physical brightness level and prevent screen flicker issues. Additionally, it automatically adjusts the display brightness based on ambient light conditions, providing eye protection. The app achieves this by turning off select pixels and adding a transparent black mask layer. It also offers an easily accessible control bar for further brightness adjustments. Another advantage is that it allows you to darken your screen beyond the minimum stock brightness level.

Even after upgrading to Android O version or later, this app remains effective in the status bar, notification drop-down menu, and lock screen.
